Welcome to our termly newsletter

Find out about all the great musical opportunities coming up and how to get involved

---

"I am sure you will be pleased to know that Sound Foundation Somerset continues to fund all our partners throughout the lockdown period. We are very conscious that when some form of normality returns we want our partners to still be in business and to continue to provide the great opportunities they do.

It’s really pleasing to read of the ways in which SFS partners are providing innovative ways for our young musicians to carry on making music when the lifeline of lessons and ensemble music making were taken away at a stroke back in March. The range of opportunities which you will read of in this newsletter shows the breadth of talent and expertise within our partners and I urge you to get involved, maybe with something completely new.

The internet is awash with creative ideas and performances and amongst many I urge you to track down BBC SO bassoonist, private pilot and aviation enthusiast Steve Magee marking VE Day in lockdown with an amazing performance of the Dambusters March and Jason Evans, Principal Trumpet of the Philharmonia playing Sousa. Also check out a new resource from Nicola Benedetti which was launched on the 11th May here"

Best wishes and keep safe
