What Next? Progression for you and your students

Sound Foundation delivery partners provide music making opportunities for children and young people in school and in the community. Each specialises in something unique to enable everyone to progress to develop and extend their musical and social skills, talents and enjoyment. Check our news pages for regular updates.

Progression beyond WCET

If you have enjoyed your whole class ensemble tuition with Somerset Music and would like to sustain your children’s involvement you can sign up to Continuation Tuition.  Continuation with Somerset Music can be for any number of students from one to a whole class learning as one – just like WCET.

Somerset Music will invoice the school for continuation (on a termly basis), and the majority of schools
then charge the individual parent/s carers to recoup this cost. The more students you have in a group, the cheaper it is. For example, a group of 15 students or more can learn in a 45 minute lesson (over 33 weeks) for as little as £2.50 a week.

Bespoke music tuition for individual, small and large group lessons is also available. Schools can choose from a range of instruments including brass, woodwind, string and percussion.

Free Instrument Hire
If your school has completed a year of WCET (or wider opportunities) students instrument hire free of charge for the first year of tuition to those taking part in Somerset Music continuation sessions!
