Response to Coronavirus

Coronavirus Information

In light of the current and rapidly changing public-health situation regarding Coronavirus (Covid 19), we would like to assure you that Sound Foundation Somerset, including its funded partner organisations, continue to follow all government guidance in relation to education settings, including schools and other funded partners’ premises which are used for Hub funded activities. Maintaining the safety of pupils, families, staff and those working for our partner organisations is of utmost importance.

As of this coming Friday evening, 20th March 2020, all schools in England will close until further notice for the majority of pupils, which will of course mean that all school-based, face-to-face Hub activities will be suspended until further notice.  Events and courses due to take place over the Easter holidays have been cancelled.  A few of our partners organisations are working hard to deliver tuition on-line, and others supporting the vulnerable children are seeking to continue this support for as long as they are able to do so. Please check with the relevant partner organisation for details of cancelled/suspended activities or whether on-line tuition is being offered. Our extremely dedicated and flexible partners will try to rearrange planned workshops and events for a later date wherever they can once our schools are open for all pupils again.

Hub staff based at County Hall, Taunton are now working from home, however you can still reach us using the contact details below. If you have any concerns not covered above or any general questions, do please get in touch with us by phone or e-mail, or by contacting the relevant partner organisation delivering the activity.

In the meantime, please keep well and safe.

With every best wish,

Helen Reid
