Bursaries available for young musicians in Somerset

South West Music School are pleased to announce that a small number of grant-funded spaces are available on their 2020/21 programmes. Thanks to funding from Somerset Music Education Hub – Sound Foundation Somerset, there is also a small pot of funding available for potential students to attend free taster sessions with SWMS.

Applications are welcome from young instrumentalists and vocalists across any musical genre but please be aware that these opportunities are specifically for talented young musicians aged 10-15 years and living in the Somerset Local Authority area.

Please email expressions of interest to Tracy Hill: t.hill@swms.org.uk. She will then be in contact with you to arrange an initial discussion. As the 2020/21 application deadline has now passed, these spaces are being offered through a clearing system and applications will be considered as they are received.

South West Music School is a Centre of Advanced Training (CAT) and a music charity working with talented young instrumentalists, singers and composers aged 8–19 years in the South West of England. Due to the geographical nature of the South West, we are not building-based but are a ‘virtual’ school working with young people on an individual basis in their local area.
